One person died and another remains in critical condition after an active shooter situation at Elko Regional Airport in Nevada.
Police Response and Airport Closure
Officers responded to reports of an active shooter at the airport around 12:30 p.m. local time on Monday, April 13. The facility shut down to all traffic immediately.
Lieutenant Shane Daz of the Elko Police Department confirmed that responders discovered one individual deceased at the scene. Reports indicate the victim was a juvenile.

The Elko Police Department issued this update: “Police are investigating a crime scene at the Elko Airport. The airport is closed to all traffic at this time. We will update you when it is back open.”
