Newlyweds Enjoy Casual Sydney Stroll
Francesca Packer Barham, the 31-year-old billionaire heiress, and her new husband Robert Bates, 46, were seen taking a relaxed walk in Sydney’s Potts Point on Monday, just days after their intimate wedding in the Upper Hunter Valley.
The couple opted for comfortable casual attire. Francesca wore a black tracksuit featuring a love-heart print, paired with sunglasses, flat black sandals, and a matching tote bag. She pulled her hair into a simple ponytail. Robert matched the laid-back vibe in a $194 white Tenore hoodie, black shorts, and sneakers, while pulling a suitcase. Notably, neither displayed a wedding ring during the outing.
They paused at a local cafe, where Robert grabbed a takeaway smoothie.
Intimate Ceremony at Family Estate
The pair exchanged vows last Wednesday at Ellerston, the Packer family’s expansive 30,000-hectare estate. The civil, non-denominational ceremony hosted only 18 guests, including Francesca’s mother Gretel, who walked her down the aisle, grandmother Roslyn, father Nick Barham, and his wife Karen Carwin.
Francesca’s younger brother Ben and half-brother William served as groomsmen. Members of Robert’s family also attended the three-day event. The location accommodated Roslyn’s mobility challenges following multiple hip and knee replacements.
Shift from Original Spanish Plans
Francesca initially envisioned a full-moon wedding in Spain, timed to a three-day lunar cycle ending July 29, reflecting her interests in spirituality and crystals. While a celebration there proceeds, the couple marries beforehand.
A combined hens’ and bucks’ party is set for Majorca on June 16.
