Actor Jon Hamm is preparing to become a father for the first time at age 55, as his wife, Anna Osceola, is pregnant with their first child. Osceola, 38, was recently photographed displaying her baby bump during a beach outing in the Hamptons.
Pregnancy Revealed During Beach Day
Exclusive images captured last week show Osceola, an actress, enjoying a day at the beach with Hamm. She was seen wearing a green bikini that highlighted her noticeable baby bump, appearing to be in her second trimester. Hamm, who married Osceola in 2023, was also present, looking joyful as he spent time with his wife.
The couple’s pregnancy news first emerged in late June, when they were observed vacationing at a resort in Ischia, Italy. During that outing, Osceola’s pregnancy was also evident.
A Shift in Perspective on Fatherhood
The impending arrival of a child marks a significant personal development for Jon Hamm, who had previously expressed reservations about fatherhood. During his long-term relationship with Jennifer Westfeldt, which ended in 2015 after 18 years, Hamm stated in a 2008 interview with The Guardian that he was uncertain about having children.
“I don’t necessarily want kids. A lot of our friends are having children and I don’t know if it’s for me,” Hamm said at the time. He elaborated that while friends from stable family backgrounds might view having children as a celebration, he was not sure it would be the same for him, indicating a more complex personal history with family dynamics.
Hamm first met Osceola in 2015 when she made a guest appearance on the AMC series *Mad Men*, where he starred as Don Draper. Osceola played a receptionist in one episode. Shortly after Hamm met Osceola, he and Westfeldt announced their separation.
Hamm’s Journey to Parenthood
Hamm and Osceola were first seen together publicly in 2017, and their relationship was confirmed in 2020. They made their red carpet debut in 2022 and also starred together in the film *Confess, Fletch*. The couple announced their engagement in February 2023.
In recent years, Hamm has spoken about how his relationship with Osceola has influenced his personal growth and perspective on life. He revealed in a 2022 interview with Sirius XM that his relationship inspired him to seek therapy for childhood trauma, stemming from the loss of his mother at age 10. This process, he explained, opened up new possibilities for his future.
“I’m in another place in my life where I feel very settled and comfortable. I’m in a relationship right now and it’s comfortable,” Hamm stated. He further described how focusing on his mental health and addressing past trauma led him to redefine his understanding of happiness and life goals.
“It sounds hokey and whatever, but it’s real and for one of a better word, it’s what I’m working for. What else is there other than that?” he remarked.
In a June 2024 interview, Hamm expressed his hopes for his marriage to include children. “It’s been great. And I hope it turns into kids. It’s not lost on me that I’m 53. I will be the old dad, but so it goes. It could be a good thing. We’ll see,” he shared, acknowledging his age while embracing the prospect of fatherhood.
Looking Ahead
The couple is reportedly looking forward to the arrival of their first child. Hamm, known for his role as Don Draper in *Mad Men*, has navigated a significant personal evolution, moving from past ambivalence about fatherhood to embracing the role of a dad-to-be.
Hamm and Osceola’s journey highlights a personal transformation for the actor, who has openly discussed his path toward emotional well-being and a desire for family life. The upcoming birth is anticipated to be a joyous occasion for the couple as they embark on this new chapter.
