In a letter to a Home committee final month, authorized counsel for Alphabet, YouTube’s guardian firm, claimed that president Joe Biden’s administration sought to “affect” the corporate to crack down on Covid-19 misinformation. Republicans celebrated the letter as an obvious admission of Democratic censorship.
However Democrats appear to be throwing chilly water on the allegations. In a new letter to YouTube CEO Neal Mohan first reported by WIRED, rating member of the Home Judiciary Committee Jamie Raskin shares half a dozen excerpts of transcripts with 20 Alphabet workers. In response to the letter, none of them declare they have been ever pressured to suppress or take away content material on the behest of the Biden administration.
