Recently unsealed documents from Jeffrey Epstein’s files reveal that Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, expressed deep affection toward the financier in a series of emails, including a marriage proposal.
Ferguson’s Communications with Epstein
Epstein, who died by suicide in a Manhattan federal jail in August 2019 while facing sex trafficking charges, maintained connections with high-profile figures. Under the Transparency Act, the Department of Justice continues to release related documents.
In one email, Ferguson wrote to Epstein: ‘You are a legend. I really don’t have the words to describe my love and gratitude for your generosity and kindness. Xx I am at your service. Just marry me.’
Just months after Epstein’s release from prison in 2009, Ferguson reportedly visited him in Miami accompanied by her two daughters, then aged 21 and 19.
Another message from 2009 describes Epstein as ‘the brother I have always wished for’ and states she felt ‘so proud’ of him.
Prince Andrew’s Ties to Epstein
Ferguson’s ex-husband, Prince Andrew, faces renewed scrutiny from the same document release. Images depict a man identified as the duke positioned on all fours above a woman lying on the floor. In one photo, he gazes directly at the camera; in another, his hand rests on her abdomen. He wears a white polo shirt and jeans, with another individual visible in a leopard-print chair nearby.
The undated photos lack captions, and their origin remains unclear.
Additional files show email exchanges between Andrew and Epstein regarding a ‘beautiful’ Russian woman. Andrew invited Epstein to Buckingham Palace.
In an August 2010 email, two years after Epstein’s guilty plea to soliciting a minor for prostitution—resulting in a 13-month work-release sentence—Epstein wrote: ‘I have a friend who I think you might enjoy having dinner with.’
Andrew replied: ‘Of course. I am in Geneva until the morning of 22nd but would be delighted to see her. Will she be bringing a message from you? Please give her my contact details to get in touch. A.’
Andrew has vehemently denied allegations of sexually assaulting Virginia Giuffre, a teenager trafficked by Epstein. He stepped down from royal duties in 2019 following a BBC Newsnight interview. The release of Giuffre’s posthumous memoir and Epstein-related documents intensified public attention.
Last year, King Charles III revoked Andrew’s HRH style and prince title.
