Brittany Hockley’s Public Statement on Fertility

Hockley, known for co-hosting the popular ‘Life Uncut’ podcast and her past appearance on ‘The Bachelor Australia,’ recently took to Instagram to address the persistent questions she receives. She stated, “I’m 38. Married. I travel the world. No kids. Everyday I get asked why I don’t have kids or when I’m having them. That I am missing out.” When confronted with these inquiries, her direct response is, “I can’t fall pregnant. I hope that answers your questions.”

In a more detailed caption accompanying her post, Hockley elaborated on the emotional toll of her fertility journey. She admitted, “it’s not for a lack of trying trust me.” While acknowledging that such questions are rarely intended to cause harm, she explained the bluntness of her answer stems from the reality of their situation. “But we haven’t been able to fall pregnant. This is just the truth of it,” she stated, emphasizing that anyone experiencing similar struggles will understand how all-consuming it can be. The constant wondering about when, or if, a family will begin consumes her thoughts and daily life, leading to profound exhaustion.

The Emotional Impact of Infertility

Hockley extended a message of solidarity to others navigating the complexities of infertility, saying, “So anyone going through it, I get it. I get you. I feel you. There’s a lot of us!” She encouraged those facing similar challenges to find ways to still enjoy life’s moments, warning against letting the struggle completely overshadow their experiences. “But it would be a shame to miss life’s beautiful moments that are still happening. Because life is still happening, and we get just one,” she reflected.

Despite the difficulties, Hockley and her husband, Benjamin Siegrist, maintain a positive outlook. They continue to travel and embrace life’s adventures, often sharing their experiences on social media. Hockley humorously noted, “trying in different tropical locations isn’t the worst.” The couple, who married in June 2025 after meeting on a celebrity dating app two years prior, have managed a long-distance relationship and recently relocated to Italy to live together.

Support and Community Response

Hockley’s candid post garnered significant support from her followers. Many expressed admiration for her openness and resilience. Comments included messages of love and encouragement, with one follower writing, “Love you both so much, you’re living a wonderful life and if a baby comes and adds to that wonderful life, it will be so lucky to be born into so much love and adventure.” Another commenter praised her perspective, stating, “What an absolutely inspiring and beautiful perspective. I wish for and honestly see only a path of happiness for you two – regardless of what that path looks like.”

Understanding Fertility and Seeking Help

For individuals and couples experiencing difficulties conceiving, medical professionals generally advise seeking guidance from a General Practitioner (GP). In the UK, the recommendation is to consult a GP after one year of trying if under 35, or within six months if over 35. In the interim, focusing on methods such as cycle tracking, moderating alcohol and caffeine intake, and maintaining a healthy body weight are often suggested as supportive measures.

Brittany Hockley’s willingness to share her personal fertility struggles highlights a common yet often unspoken challenge faced by many. Her message emphasizes the importance of empathy and understanding, while also showcasing the strength found in community and a positive outlook, even amidst significant life challenges.
