Christian Dumontet, the estranged husband of Selling Sunset star Christine Quinn, continues to pay $27,000 monthly to maintain their former Los Angeles residence. He seeks sole legal ownership through court documents filed Friday to sell the property and halt mounting financial losses.
Court Filing Details
Dumontet, 47, purchased the home as an investment in 2019, shortly before marrying the 37-year-old Texas native. He reports owing $3.5 million on the mortgage while covering thousands in rent, security, and upkeep costs.
“This is not sustainable,” Dumontet stated in the filing. “I require immediate court intervention to stop this financial hemorrhaging.”
He aims to sell the non-income-producing asset quickly to end the ongoing expenses. The businessman notes Quinn has made no financial contributions toward the purchase, mortgage, carrying costs, maintenance, or repairs.
Family Background and Separation
The couple, parents to 4-year-old son Christian, separated in March 2024 amid alleged domestic violence incidents. Quinn secured a temporary restraining order, resulting in Dumontet’s two arrests within hours.
Dumontet, formerly known as Christian Richard, explains that these events prevented him from managing the property responsibly. Upon regaining access, he invested heavily in repairs and renovations.
Quinn vacated the home around September 2025 and relocated to Texas. Dumontet now lives in France with his girlfriend and their 1-year-old son. He emphasizes that he alone bears the financial burden, as Quinn faces no monetary obligations for the mortgage or repairs.
The court denied his emergency order request for immediate relief.
Quinn’s New Life in Texas
In an interview with People magazine last year, Quinn expressed gratitude for her move. “I’m really, really grateful to be living here,” she said, noting proximity to family including a nearby sister and cousin for her son. “I found a wonderful house… it’s like 60 percent done, but there’s still some things that I want to do.”
