A compelling alternative to Sky’s paid television services has significantly reduced its price, offering a free streaming solution.
While Sky provides extensive television packages, the cost can quickly become substantial. Even introductory Sky Stream bundles begin at £15 monthly, with prices escalating beyond £60 when incorporating channels like Sky Sports, Cinema, and features such as advert skipping.
For consumers seeking a more budget-friendly option that now mirrors some of Sky’s key functionalities, the Pleio Puck, powered by the Freely TV platform, presents a notable contender. Launched late last year, this service utilizes internet connectivity to deliver live and on-demand programming, bypassing traditional aerial or satellite reception.
Freely Offers a Cost-Effective Streaming Experience
As its name implies, Freely provides a completely free viewing experience. Once the Pleio Puck is acquired, there are no ongoing subscription fees.
Initially priced at £99, the Pleio Puck has seen a price reduction to just £80 for a limited period this week. This new price point makes the device an even more attractive proposition.
The £80 package not only includes the Pleio Puck and a remote control but also grants 12 months of premium online gaming access and a wireless controller designed in a PlayStation 5 style.
Channel Availability and Features
Although the Pleio Puck does not offer the same breadth of channels as Sky, users can access over 50 live services. The Freely platform also incorporates features such as live TV pausing and rewinding, personalized content recommendations, and a comprehensive interactive TV guide.
For those who find the 50 available live channels insufficient, Sky’s Stream box remains an option. Its standard bundle starts at £15, with an ‘Ultimate TV’ option that includes additional channels and Disney+ access available for £25.
