Chimaev Appears Comfortable at Record Weight for RAF 10 Main Event
The highly anticipated main event for RAMpage Fighting (RAF) 10 is officially set after the conclusion of the weigh-ins in St. Louis, Missouri. Khamzat Chimaev is slated to face Dillon Danis tonight at the Chaifetz Arena, promising a significant conclusion to a busy night for the wrestling promotion.
Concerns had previously surfaced among fans regarding Chimaev’s conditioning following his most recent MMA bout last month. However, for this upcoming contest, set at a catchweight, he appeared notably more relaxed and at ease during the weigh-in proceedings compared to past appearances.
Chimaev Hits Career-High Weight for First Bout Under New Promotion
Both Khamzat Chimaev and Dillon Danis successfully made weight ahead of their main event showdown at RAF 10. The bout will be contested at light heavyweight (205 pounds), marking a move up in weight for both competitors.
Footage from the weigh-ins shows Chimaev tipping the scales at 203.4 pounds for his inaugural match within the RAMpage Fighting promotion. While this is a new weight class for him in MMA, he previously competed in a wrestling match against Jack Hermansson at 187 pounds.
Dillon Danis, meanwhile, met the light heavyweight limit precisely, weighing in at 205 pounds for his second appearance with the promotion. Danis is aiming to rebound from a loss to Colby Covington earlier this year. Reports had indicated that a challenging weight cut in his last fight stemmed from initial preparations for a move to light heavyweight, leading him to start his training camp at a higher weight before being instructed to defend his title at 185 pounds.
Co-Main Event Fighters Also Make Weight
The fighters competing in the co-main event also successfully made weight. Arman Tsarukyan registered 169 pounds on the scale, while Tony Ferguson came in slightly lighter at 165.6 pounds.
