New Romance for MAFS Star Alissa Fay
Alissa Fay, 33, from Married At First Sight, has started dating Australian Ninja Warrior competitor Nathan Ryles, 32, shortly after David Momoh ended their relationship during Final Vows. The Adelaide locals displayed public affection at a beach, marking the debut of their partnership.
Alissa calls Nathan her “soulmate,” explaining their “connection is something I’ve never experienced before.” She shared, “He was unexpected; we didn’t plan for this to happen, you know, it just happened so naturally. I believe that he is my person.”
“I thought that I knew what love was, and I thought that I had felt love before, but this is a whole other feeling,” Alissa added.
Nathan says they “bring out the best in each other.” Unfamiliar with her MAFS journey as he skips the show, he stated, “She’s treated me better than I’ve ever been treated, and I just love her so much.”
The pair kept their romance under wraps since December to preserve the MAFS storyline. Mutual friends in Adelaide’s tight-knit circles introduced them years ago, but sparks flew post-filming during a wine tour tied to Alissa’s gym.
Alissa recently dismissed dating rumors, insisting, “What is going on, all this speculation, he is engaged! I follow him and his fiancée Tori on social media. We are friends, Adelaide is a small place. Adelaide is just like that, everyone knows everyone! It is just noise.” Nathan was not engaged when they began dating; the claim helped conceal their bond.
Final Vows Heartbreak
During Tuesday’s MAFS episode, Alissa faced rejection as David, 31, departed before her Final Vows, leaving her alone at the altar. Entering confidently, Alissa anticipated delivering tough news: “Today is going to be tough for David. He missed the mark because he was a ‘yes’ man. The ball is in my court today, and it breaks my heart knowing I’m going to be breaking his heart at the end of this.”
David first commended their bond but revealed shifting feelings after the final commitment ceremony. “I finally spoke up,” he said. “You accused me of blindsiding you and in that moment I realised something important. I wasn’t being heard. You couldn’t see I wasn’t attacking you – I was finally standing up for myself.”
He cited their post-Grass is Greener clash as decisive: “You flirted, made inappropriate jokes and spoke poorly about me behind my back. I felt betrayed and disrespected by what I saw. I challenged you and you shut me down. It felt as though you wouldn’t take any accountability for how I had felt.”
“Throughout all this, I’ve been patient, and I have done a lot of the listening, but I’m done listening,” David continued. Despite lingering love, he prioritized self-preservation: “With you there was no version of me that could win. I’ve realised I can’t be the man who constantly fights to be heard or constantly fights to prove his worth to someone who is still deciding if I’ll be enough. Today I’m not walking away because I’ve stopped loving you, Alissa. I’m walking away because loving you shouldn’t mean losing myself.”
Shocked, Alissa called after him: “You’re not going to listen to my vows? That’s a no? Wow, I just wasted three months of my life and he won’t even listen to me.” She read her vows solo: “David, you are everything I wanted and more. You are strong, you are kind, you are compassionate, you are a leader, but standing here today I can only be honest. I love you, David, for who you are but not for me.”
David later admitted heartbreak: “There’s been so much pain that I’ve experienced in the last two weeks. I feel tremendously heartbroken. It felt that I was fighting for a relationship that someone wasn’t willing to fight for.”
