Details of the Interception

The arrest occurred on Thursday night, January 22, 2026, when the woman, identified only by her first name Vane, arrived from Sao Paulo, Brazil, via a connecting flight from Doha, Qatar. Routine security checks revealed approximately 8.197 kilograms of the illegal substance concealed within her baggage.

Customs officials and law enforcement personnel acted swiftly upon detecting the suspicious items during an X-ray scan at the arrival area. The suspect was immediately taken into custody without incident.

Legal Consequences and Investigation

The apprehended individual faces charges under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 for attempting to import prohibited narcotics into the country. Further details about her employment abroad were not disclosed at the time of the arrest.

Investigators are continuing to probe the case to uncover any potential links to broader smuggling networks. This incident highlights ongoing efforts to secure the nation’s primary international gateway against drug trafficking.
