Race 1: Scone Maiden Plate (1100m)

The opening race sees The Cristal as a strong contender, having secured placings at this track and Newcastle previously. Her last start resulted in a third-place finish at Newcastle after leading, and she benefits from a favorable draw in barrier two. Joika, a previous winner over 1600m at this track, also showed promise with a third at Newcastle, though her most recent run was below expectations. Royal Princess boasts a consistent record with five minor placings from eleven starts, indicating reliability. Tsarevich, who finished midfield at this track last time out, is expected to be in peak condition for this race.

Recommendation: The Cristal to win.

Race 2: Scone Class 1 Handicap (1300m)

Making his debut is Tasman Deel, a gelding by Dundeel who has undergone three preparatory trials, including a close third at Tamworth. He is tipped to perform well. Malay Peninsula debuted with a third at Gunnedah and is expected to be competitive again. Summer Force impressed on her debut with a second-place finish at this track and should be prominent. May The Force secured a third-place finish at significant odds in her second start at this track.

Recommendation: Tasman Deel to win.

Race 3: Scone Benchmark 58 Handicap (1100m)

Heathcliff broke his maiden status impressively at Muswellbrook and followed up with a fourth at Gunnedah, where he was not far from the winner. He is a key contender. Street Boss resumed from a spell with a strong win at Gunnedah and possesses the potential for further improvement. Supreme Statement has been consistently close to the leaders in both starts since resuming and is poised for a forward showing. Famahan finished third last start at Moree and has a previous win at this track to his credit.

Recommendation: Heathcliff to win.

Race 4: Scone Class 3 Handicap (1300m)

Punxsutawney Phil makes his debut after four trials, with his two most recent efforts being particularly sound. He appears capable of starting his career with a victory. Warshade, who had one start earlier in the year, resumes after two trials and is expected to show improvement. Yeah Buddy has an excellent record with placings in eight of nine starts and is having his second run for a new stable. Mr Hugo finished fourth on debut at this track and could be in contention.

Recommendation: Punxsutawney Phil to win.

Race 5: Scone Benchmark 74 Handicap (1600m)

Super Sugoi is third up from a spell and has a strong record at this distance, indicating he is ready to peak and is considered a good value chance. King Jerry won impressively when resuming at this track before a solid effort in a Rosehill Highway race. Fan Harder narrowly defeated King Jerry at Rosehill last time and has the form to make an impact. Magic Merlin is on a two-race winning streak and should not be underestimated.

Recommendation: Super Sugoi each way.

Race 6: Scone Maiden Plate (1100m)

Speed Encore debuted with a second at Muswellbrook in May, finishing strongly after settling off the speed. Resuming after a spell and two barrier trials, she is a leading contender. Party Rebel makes her debut after numerous trials and shows potential, though the wide barrier could be a challenge. Akatoa enters her debut after two trials and is expected to perform boldly. Shanti, a stablemate of Akatoa, also debuts after several trials and appears well-prepared.

Recommendation: Speed Encore to win.

Race 7: Scone Benchmark 66 Handicap (1300m)

King Potter, a dual winner from six starts, resumes after a spell and has had two trials in preparation for this. He won at Taree in March and is a strong candidate. Via Flaminia is first up and boasts two wins from seven starts, with a good record fresh and two recent trials. Herman Said finished third at Gosford upon resuming before an eighth at Newcastle. Kakoda has a solid record with two wins from six starts, including a placing in a Highway race at Rosehill two starts ago.

Recommendation: King Potter to win.

Race 8: Scone Class 1 Handicap (900m)

Amajicstar impressed when winning on debut over 900m after a promising trial, leading from start to finish. Despite a wide gate, her early speed should allow her to overcome it. Nevermista recorded a win and a second at this track upon returning from a spell, followed by a last-start third here after a run in Highway grade. Cassiere resumes from a long spell for a new stable and has a good record of one win and three placings from six starts. Panta Rhei produced a strong finishing second last start and is expected to finish well again.

Recommendation: Amajicstar to win.

Summary of Best Bets and Value Picks

The expert selections highlight Tasman Deel in Race 2 and Speed Encore in Race 6 as the top picks to win. For value, Super Sugoi in Race 5 is identified as the horse offering the best odds for an each-way bet.
