A social media influencer at the center of Stefon Diggs’ defamation lawsuit has filed a motion to compel the NFL wide receiver to disclose his financial records, marking a significant escalation in their ongoing legal dispute.

Latest Court Filing

Christopher Griffith, who served as Diggs’ style advisor and consultant for his clothing line starting in 2022, accuses the free agent player of drugging him, making unwanted sexual advances, and later orchestrating an attack against him. Diggs, who became a free agent after the 2025 season, filed a defamation suit against Griffith in November, alleging the claims are fabricated for online attention. Griffith countersued and now seeks evidence of any financial impact from the allegations, claiming Diggs resists the discovery process.

Griffith’s attorney argues that Diggs ‘does not get to sue and hide,’ pushing for full financial transparency.

Details of the Alleged Incident

Griffith claims that on May 21, 2023, Diggs invited him to stay overnight at his Maryland property. The pair visited nightclubs in Washington, D.C., until the early hours of May 22. While out, Diggs offered Griffith ‘candy,’ which he initially declined but later ate when hungry. Griffith alleges the candy was drugged, causing extreme pupil dilation, skin tingling, difficulty speaking, and disorientation despite no alcohol consumption.

Back at the property, still in Diggs’ car, Griffith says the player exposed himself, masturbated, and gestured for him to touch his genitalia. Griffith forcefully demanded he stop and exited the vehicle. As they approached the door, Diggs allegedly grabbed his shoulder, pulled him close, attempted a kiss, licked his ear, and whispered an invitation to his room. Griffith resisted but struggled due to the suspected drug effects.

Inside, Diggs headed to his room while Griffith retreated to the bathroom to plan an escape. Upon emerging, two women and Darez Diggs, the player’s brother, confronted him, threatened silence, and instructed him to claim he stole items. They forced him into a vehicle and dropped him at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport wearing only an ill-fitting sweatshirt. Disoriented, Griffith secured a flight to Los Angeles.

Follow-Up Attack Allegations

Approximately a week later, on May 29, 2023, Griffith alleges associates of Diggs, including Darez, attacked him in his Los Angeles apartment building elevator. The assailants kicked and punched his head, stealing his phone and valuables. Surveillance footage captured the incident. Darez Diggs pleaded no contest to one felony count of grand theft from a person in March 2024, receiving two years’ probation and 20 hours of community service.

Griffith reports ongoing PTSD, traumatic brain injury, left leg and ankle fractures, and a left knee meniscus tear from the assault.

Diggs’ Response and Additional Legal Challenges

Diggs denies all accusations, insisting Griffith invented the story to boost his profile. The defamation suit claims severe reputational harm.

This case adds to Diggs’ legal troubles. In February, Dedham police charged him with felony strangulation or suffocation and misdemeanor assault and battery after an alleged altercation with his personal chef during a financial dispute in his early Patriots tenure. He pleaded not guilty; trial begins in May. The New England Patriots released him in March following their Super Bowl loss to the Seattle Seahawks.

Diggs also parted ways with rapper Cardi B around the February Super Bowl, three months after welcoming their first child.
