“The longer this goes on, each day, these hardworking Individuals have payments they must pay, they usually’re being compelled to make choices and decisions,” Duffy stated Tuesday. “As each day goes by, I believe the issue goes to solely worsen. Not higher.”

At an Oct. 28 information convention at LaGuardia Airport in New York, Nationwide Air Visitors Controllers Affiliation President Nick Daniels emphasised that his group’s members are underneath mounting monetary pressures.

“Air site visitors controllers must have 100% of focus 100% of the time,” he stated. “And I am watching air site visitors controllers going to work. I am getting the tales. They’re fearful about paying for medication for his or her daughter. I obtained a message from a controller that stated, ‘I am working out of cash. And if she would not get the medication she wants, she dies. That is the tip.'”
