Apple CEO Tim Cook has released captivating video footage showcasing iPad-generated artwork projected onto the Sydney Opera House sails in Australia.
Yearlong Collaboration Kicks Off with Illuminating Creativity
Apple partners with the Sydney Opera House for a yearlong initiative that begins with the “Illuminating Creativity” project. This effort transforms the Opera House’s eastern Bennelong sails into a vibrant canvas highlighting creativity, community, and Australian talent from March 25 to 27.
Artwork from Emerging Australian Artists
The projections feature original static and animated pieces crafted on iPad using Procreate by 10 diverse emerging Australian artists. Apple Pencil and iPad serve as key tools for these illustrators, bringing their visions to life on one of the world’s most iconic landmarks.
Public Invited to Contribute
From March 9 to 15, free Today at Apple sessions at stores across Australia welcome the public to produce their own digital artworks on iPad. Participants can submit entries for potential inclusion in the final display.
Projection Schedule and Curation
A curated selection of pieces from the commissioned artists and public submissions lights up the sails at 8:30 p.m. on March 25, and 8:00 p.m. on March 26 and 27. Apple emphasizes how these tools empower creators to produce stunning visuals for massive projection.
