The Incident Unfolds

On April 25, a wedding celebration for the daughter of local resident Babban Vishwakarma took place in a small village. The procession passed by Sabir Ali’s poultry farm around 9:30 p.m., triggering panic among his flock.

“The noise was so intense that the chickens got frightened and died,” Ali stated in his complaint to authorities.

Police are now investigating DJ Kavi Yadav, examining whether the bass speakers exceeded permissible sound levels during the event. Both the DJ and the farmer have refrained from additional comments amid the probe.

Effects of Loud Noise on Animals

Excessive noise, particularly at high volumes, can induce severe distress in animals, leading to health issues or even death. Studies indicate that nearly 80% of pets experience anxiety from triggers like traffic, loud sounds, isolation, or environmental changes.

The Humane Slaughter Organisation notes several stressors that contribute to animal distress, including unfamiliar settings, noise, overcrowding, extreme temperatures, and lack of food or water. While animals may handle brief stress, prolonged exposure to multiple factors often results in suffering.

Common examples include dogs and cats reacting fearfully to fireworks. Even wildlife faces similar risks; in 2016, lions at Bristol Zoo Gardens displayed clear stress—pacing restlessly—during a ‘Big Night Out’ event with loud live music.
