Kylie Jenner drew widespread attention at the 2026 Met Gala with a provocative flesh-toned ensemble featuring apparent fake nipple imprints. The 28-year-old reality star highlighted her notably slim waist in the revealing look, complemented by bleached eyebrows as she walked the red carpet in New York City alone, without boyfriend Timothée Chalamet.
Outfit Details
The outfit included a flesh-colored bodysuit that accentuated her cleavage, cinched at the back like a corset. A cream-colored satin gown bunched around her hips, adorned with pale pink and lavender beads and embroidery, completed the ensemble. The bodysuit bears resemblance to designs from her sister Kim Kardashian’s Skims line.
Event Theme and Dress Code
The Met Gala, held on May 4 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Benefit, follows the first Monday in May tradition. This year’s theme, ‘Costume Art,’ pairs with the dress code ‘Fashion Is Art,’ encouraging attendees to view the human body as a canvas for designers.
Co-Chairs and Leadership
Co-chairs Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman, and Venus Williams led the event alongside Vogue’s global editorial director Anna Wintour. Williams co-chairs for the first time, while Kidman previously held the role in 2003 and 2005. Beyoncé served as honorary chair in 2013.
Exhibition Highlights
The accompanying ‘Costume Art’ exhibition, running from May 10, 2026, to January 10, 2027, in the new Condé Nast Galleries, showcases historical and contemporary garments. Categories cover the classical and nude body, aging and pregnant bodies, and the anatomical body. Curator Andrew Bolton explained, ‘The title “Costume Art” refers to the history of the Costume Institute.’ He added that fashion achieves art status through its connection to the body.
Sponsors and Host Committee
Lead sponsors and honorary co-chairs Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez, along with Yves Saint Laurent, back the exhibit. The host committee features co-chairs Anthony Vaccarello and Zoë Kravitz, plus Sabrina Carpenter, Doja Cat, Angela Bassett, Gwendoline Christie, Misty Copeland, Elizabeth Debicki, Lena Dunham, Sam Smith, and Teyana Taylor.
The Met Gala remains a key fundraiser for the Costume Institute. It marks Wintour’s first event since stepping down as American Vogue editor-in-chief in June 2025, after 37 years, while retaining her global roles at Vogue and Condé Nast.
Attendance dipped last year amid the ‘Superfine: Tailoring Black Style’ theme, focused on Black dandyism.
