Soldier’s Health Declines, Prompting Urgent Intervention
A concerning update regarding soldier Rory Dickson’s health has left medical professional Flynn Byron deeply troubled. The young soldier, who Flynn had suspected was a victim of abuse and hazing at his barracks, reportedly took a turn for the worse. This development prompted Flynn to request his colleague, Stevie Nash, to manage the situation in his absence.
Rory first came to the attention of Holby ED’s Clinical Lead, Flynn, after a fellow soldier was admitted following an explosion at Wyvern Hill Estate, an area known to be built on toxic waste. Flynn observed what appeared to be historic bruising on Rory’s back. When he attempted to question the young soldier, Colonel Bard, a figure Flynn suspected of mistreating Rory, intervened.
Rory was later admitted to the Emergency Department after a military training exercise went awry. Flynn’s examination led him to speculate that Rory was also being subjected to abuse by Colonel Bard. Bard actively prevented Rory from being alone with Flynn, ensuring he couldn’t reveal the full extent of his ordeal before being discharged from the hospital.
A Dangerous Cycle and a Desperate Rescue
The situation escalated when Rory was readmitted to the hospital after sustaining an injury. Flynn offered support and wound care, leading Rory to confide in him about the hazing and abuse he had endured at Bard’s hands. However, Rory vanished from the ED shortly after, only to be brought back in following a serious accident.
Flynn, who had been searching for the young soldier, rushed back to Holby upon hearing of Rory’s admission. Despite the critical nature of his condition, Flynn successfully resuscitated Rory using a procedure known as a bilateral thoracostomy.
A Glimmer of Hope, Followed by New Challenges
Stevie Nash later informed Flynn that while Rory would require continued support from a ventilator, his condition had stabilized. However, the latest installment of the medical drama saw Flynn called into action once more when Rory’s condition deteriorated, necessitating an immediate trip to the operating theatre. Flynn relied on Stevie for support, asking her to oversee the department while he attended to Rory.
Rory, proving to be resilient, has since pulled through. Subsequent reports confirm he is not only stable but has been declared ‘out of the woods.’
Stevie Faces Scrutiny
In a separate development, Stevie Nash finds herself in significant trouble. A complaint has been lodged against her by Dylan Keogh. As Clinical Lead, Flynn has been tasked with informing Stevie of the complaint.
