Red Mountain Expands Antimony Target Ahead of July Drilling
SHARE

Red Mountain Mining Limited has expanded its antimony target at the Oaky Creek South prospect, located within its Armidale Antimony-Gold Project in New South Wales, Australia. This expansion is based on recent geophysical survey data, which indicates a significant chargeability anomaly extending beyond known surface mineralization. The company is set to commence its maiden reverse circulation (RC) drilling program in July 2026 to test these expanded targets.

Oaky Creek South Prospect Enhancements

Recent geophysical investigations, including dipole-dipole induced polarization (DDIP) and gradient array induced polarization (GAIP) surveys, have provided crucial insights into the subsurface geology at Oaky Creek South. The DDIP data, prioritized for its potential effectiveness in detecting the expected vein systems, revealed a coherent chargeability anomaly. This anomaly strikes NNE-SSW and dips steeply to the southeast, lying beneath and extending southwest from known outcropping quartz-carbonate-stibnite veins and historical antimony workings.

The anomaly exhibits a peak chargeability of over 7.2 mV/V, significantly higher than the typical background values of 2 to 3 mV/V. Preliminary modeling suggests this anomaly has a strike extent of at least 400 meters, considerably larger than the approximately 120-meter surface strike of the known veins. Furthermore, it demonstrates a vertical extent exceeding 100 meters and remains open to the southwest, indicating substantial potential for deeper and more extensive mineralization.

Geophysical Survey Details

The DDIP survey involved collecting data along three 1.6-kilometer lines spaced 100 meters apart, oriented NW-SE, and one 1.5-kilometer line oriented SW-NE. GAIP data was also gathered along the NW-SE lines to compare its cost-effectiveness and speed against DDIP, particularly for larger survey areas. While GAIP is faster, it is considered less effective for detecting narrow, steeply dipping targets like those anticipated at Oaky Creek.

Modeling of the DDIP data has been prioritized, with GAIP data modeling still in progress. The resistivity data from the DDIP survey ranges from 100 to 1200 ohm-meters, consistent with the metasedimentary host rocks and comparable to values observed at the analogous Hillgrove deposit. While resistivity data shows some correlation with chargeability anomalies, it is less conclusive for interpreting mineralisation or alteration due to the lack of subsurface drilling data.

Upcoming Maiden RC Drilling Program

Red Mountain Mining has contracted Durock Drilling to execute its first RC drilling program at Oaky Creek, scheduled to begin the week of July 20, 2026. The program is designed to test key targets identified through extensive geochemical sampling. Up to 32 RC drillholes are planned, with depths reaching a maximum of 300 meters.

The drilling campaign aims to test several high-priority targets, including the expanded chargeability anomaly at Oaky Creek South, the Oaky Creek South Main Grid antimony-arsenic auger soil anomaly (which has yielded rock chip results up to 39.3% Sb and 1.09 ppm Au), the historical workings and outcropping veins at Oaky Creek South, and the Oaky Creek North workings. An additional target, Oaky Creek North South Extension, is currently inaccessible due to crops.

Drilling Flexibility and Timeline

The approved drilling program allows Red Mountain flexibility to adjust drillhole locations based on initial findings, enabling the company to pursue depth or strike extensions of any early mineralized intercepts. Initial drillholes are planned to be between 100 and 150 meters deep to establish mineralization continuity from the surface, with the option to drill deeper if warranted. Drilling is expected to conclude in August, with assay results anticipated within the current quarter.

Armidale Antimony-Gold Project Context

The Oaky Creek prospect is the most advanced target within Red Mountain’s 391 km² Armidale Antimony-Gold Project. Located in the Southern New England Orogen of New South Wales, this region is recognized as Australia’s premier antimony province. Previous soil and rock chip sampling at Oaky Creek has indicated the potential for a large-scale orogenic antimony-gold vein system with a surface strike extent of approximately 3 kilometers.

This system is considered analogous to Larvotto Resources’ Hillgrove project, which hosts Australia’s largest known antimony deposit. The Oaky Creek prospect itself features quartz-carbonate-stibnite veins within a folded and faulted sequence of metamorphosed sediments. Historical shallow workings exist at Oaky Creek North and South. The company’s systematic soil and rock chip sampling programs have defined a significant 3km strike extent of antimony mineralization, leading to the identification of five high-priority drill targets.

Red Mountain’s 100%-owned Armidale Antimony-Gold Project is situated along the western side of the Peel Fault System, an area known for its world-class mineral potential, despite being underexplored. The project area’s geology is characterized by folded Carboniferous metasediments and ultramafic melanges associated with the Great Serpentinite Belt.
