Kelsey Parker has announced the arrival of her baby daughter, River, with partner Will Lindsay. The news was shared on Instagram on Sunday, marking a significant moment of joy for Parker, who has navigated profound loss in recent years. River is Parker’s third child, joining her elder siblings Aurelia, six, and Bodhi, four, from her marriage to the late Tom Parker.
A New Chapter of Hope
The birth of River, described by Parker as “Our little bit of hope,” comes as she continues to honor the memory of her late husband, Tom Parker, a beloved member of the band The Wanted, who passed away from a brain tumor in March 2022 at the age of 33. The couple also experienced the heartbreaking stillbirth of their son, Phoenix, in June 2025, a loss that deeply impacted the family.
Parker, 35, has been open about her journey through grief and finding new happiness. She began dating tree surgeon Will Lindsay in September 2024, a decision she has navigated with the support of her family, including Tom Parker’s parents, Noreen and Nigel.
“I’ve got such an amazing village and even with Tom’s parents Noreen and Nigel, they have supported me with whatever I’ve decided to do and they understand how hard it is,” Parker previously shared about her support system.
Embracing Life After Loss
In May, Parker announced her pregnancy, referring to River as a “rainbow baby.” This term signifies a healthy child born after a family has experienced a miscarriage, stillbirth, or infant loss. The concept of a rainbow baby often brings a sense of hope and healing.
Parker has emphasized that Tom Parker remains a vibrant presence in their lives. “For us at home, Tom is so alive in our house and we speak to him every day,” she explained. She also highlighted the ongoing process of helping her children understand and process their father’s absence. “For my children, they are still babies and they are still processing it everyday so these conversations are never going to go away and we are still dealing with the conversation.”
Meeting Will Lindsay has been instrumental in helping Parker cope with loneliness and find joy again. “It’s about finding happiness and with friends and family there is only so much they can do and it’s lovely to have someone to offload to,” she stated. “I was lonely and I’m 34 now, I was so lonely and just wanted someone and now I’ve met someone.”
Navigating Grief and Motherhood
Parker has spoken candidly about the non-linear nature of grief, noting, “What I’ve learnt is there is no wrong or right way to grieve and we all talk about when is it the right time to move on and I just don’t think there is a right time.” She reflected on the unexpected reality of becoming a widow at a young age with two small children.
Her children have been a source of strength throughout her darkest times. “My kids are my everything, they have got me through the darkest of times,” she said. Even after the profound loss of Phoenix, Parker prioritized maintaining a sense of normalcy for Aurelia and Bodhi, including continuing with the school run.
“I can’t believe I’m back here three and a half years later dealing with such a loss and a devastation, but me and Will have the kids and they have to have normality, they have to go to school,” she explained. “I did do the school run and for me, I think you have to rip the plaster off at some point… We are so awful about talking about grief, loss and death and us as a family, we’re not. So, I did get up and do the school run, and I faced everyone.”
The arrival of baby River signifies a new chapter for Kelsey Parker and her family, blending cherished memories of the past with the promise of a hopeful future.
