The U.S. Coast Guard is looking for a 77-year-old lady who went overboard from a Holland America Line cruise ship.
The lady was a passenger on the Nieuw Statendam ship, which was roughly 40 miles northeast of Sabana, Cuba, when she went overboard on Thursday, the Coast Guard stated.
The Coast Guard has deployed Cutter William Trump and an MH-60 helicopter to assist with the search.
The ship departed from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on Saturday and was on a seven-day journey via the jap Caribbean, in line with Holland America Line.
“The captain and crew initiated search and rescue procedures and are looking the world working carefully with the U.S. Coast Guard,” the cruise line stated in a press release. “Our household help crew is supporting the visitor’s household, and our ideas are with the visitor’s family members throughout this tough time.”
The ship was scheduled to dock at Key West, Florida, on Friday, however that cease was canceled due to the continuing search, the cruise line stated.
