Sharon Osbourne appeared resilient at the Pre-Grammy gala in Beverly Hills, California, joined by her children Jack and Kelly. The family presented a united front, all dressed in black, just six months after Ozzy Osbourne’s passing.
Family Attendance and Upcoming Tribute
The Osbournes plan to attend the 68th annual Grammy Awards on February 1, where Ozzy will receive a special tribute performance honoring his legendary career as the Prince of Darkness.
During the gala, the family interacted with fellow celebrities, including Ozzy’s close friend Yungblud and his partner Jesse Jo Stark, as well as Machine Gun Kelly and Jelly Roll.
Sharon’s Reflections on Ozzy’s Legacy
Earlier at the Billboard Power 100 event, Sharon accepted the Visionary Award and reflected on Ozzy’s remarkable career, emphasizing his irreplaceable presence in the music industry.
She recounted a notorious incident from Ozzy’s early days: “Ozzy went in to CBS to do a meet-and-greet and sign his deal and he took two doves with him. And at that meet-and-greet, which lasted all of two minutes, he decided to rip the head off the dove and throw it on the table. Walter Yetnikoff, president of CBS Records, had us both physically thrown out of the building and warned us that if Ozzy stepped foot in the building again, he would destroy whatever he had left of a career.”
Sharon noted that despite the ejection, Ozzy never returned but sold nearly 100 million records for the label.
The 73-year-old continued praising his style: “Everything he did, he did his way. He was wild. He was creative. He wrote some of the best melodic melody lines in heavy metal. Nobody would be melodic in metal except for Ozzy Osbourne, and that’s what made him stand out. He was unique. And there will never, ever be another Ozzy f***ing Osbourne in this industry again. He was unique.”
