Deadly Incidents in Surrey

Two women lost their lives in distinct crashes in Surrey, roughly 13 hours apart. An 81-year-old woman succumbed to injuries Wednesday evening after a vehicle struck her near the intersection of 138 Street and 102 Avenue at approximately 6:30 p.m. PT.

Just over 13 hours later, around 7:30 a.m. PT Thursday, a 45-year-old woman died in another collision near 104 Avenue and 132 Street. Investigators report that both drivers remained on scene, with no evidence of impairment in either case.

Hit-and-Run in North Vancouver

In North Vancouver, police seek the driver responsible for striking a person in a wheelchair on February 5. The incident occurred in a crosswalk at West 3rd Street and Bewicke Avenue, leaving the victim with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers released video footage showing a grey sedan as the suspect vehicle.

Survivor Dragged in Nanaimo

A woman in Nanaimo endured being dragged a short distance under a vehicle Tuesday evening along Applecross Road near McRobb Avenue around 5:45 p.m. PT. The driver halted immediately and summoned assistance.

“Police learned that the victim had become trapped underneath a pickup, described as a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado,” stated Nanaimo Const. Gary O’Brien.

Anyone with details on these incidents should contact local authorities.
