Reality TV Personality Addresses Backlash Over ‘Gender Swaying’ Methods
Jules Robinson, a well-known figure from the reality television series Married At First Sight, is speaking out in defense of her decision to utilize a ‘gender expert’ in her efforts to have a daughter. Robinson, who already has two sons, Ollie, aged five, and Carter, aged one, with her husband Cameron Merchant, openly shared her aspiration for a baby girl.
Seeking a Daughter: The Role of a ‘Gender Expert’
The 44-year-old television personality revealed that she has engaged the services of a ‘gender swaying’ practitioner. This professional, often a fertility naturopath, employs science-based strategies including the analysis of biochemistry and hormones to create preconception plans aimed at increasing the likelihood of conceiving a child of a specific sex. Robinson’s goal is to fulfill her wish for a daughter.
Addressing Public Scrutiny and Maternal Instincts
Robinson acknowledged that her candid admission on social media about wanting a girl has drawn criticism. However, she maintains that this desire is a natural sentiment among mothers. “I’m just saying the quiet part out loud, women have these conversations with their friends all the time,” Robinson stated in a recent interview. She emphasized that she would be equally overjoyed to welcome another son but sees no harm in exploring available therapies to potentially influence the outcome.
“If I hold that child and it’s a little boy. Oh my god, I’m going to love him more than anything; of course, I will,” she explained. “I’m just saying that if there’s any power that Cam and I have, naturally, to sway the baby to be a girl, then we’re going to try that.”
The ‘Gender Swaying’ Process: An Intensive Six-Month Journey
Robinson described the process of working with the gender expert as ‘intense,’ noting that she has been involved in the program for six months. The regimen includes monthly consultations and blood tests performed on the tenth day of her cycle to monitor hormone levels. The conception strategy involves timing intercourse before ovulation, based on the understanding that female sperm have a longer lifespan, thereby increasing the chances of fertilization by a female sperm.
Robinson and her husband Cameron, 42, first met on the sixth season of Married At First Sight in 2019. They married in a real-life ceremony later that year and have since welcomed their two sons.
Past Criticisms and Robinson’s Response
This discussion about her family planning comes after Robinson recently addressed accusations from a critic who claimed she does not spend enough time with her children. Despite her success as a businesswoman and influencer since her time on the reality show, one follower sent a direct message questioning her parenting. The message, received after Robinson posted about attending an event, asked: “Do you ever do anything with your children?”
Robinson chose to share the critical message publicly, though she obscured the sender’s identity. She also posted a video clip expressing her disapproval of such criticisms, stating, “I’m not that sensitive, trust me. I’ve had a lot worse. It was just to reinforce my message of what I was saying.” She concluded by asserting the importance of forging one’s own path: “You can’t win, so you’ve just got to make your own manual and do it your own way.”
