Family Demands Accountability After Brutal Killing
The grieving mother of Rhiannon Whyte, a hotel worker fatally stabbed 23 times at a Walsall railway station, has publicly accused the Prime Minister of having ‘blood on his hands.’ Siobhan Whyte declared that national leadership must be held responsible for the October 2024 attack perpetrated by Sudanese national Deng Chol Majek.
Timeline of Tragedy
Court records reveal Majek entered the UK via small boat less than three months before tracking Rhiannon to Bescot Stadium station after her shift at the Park Inn hotel where he resided. CCTV evidence showed the 27-year-old mother being dragged to a deserted platform where Majek inflicted 19 head wounds, including a fatal brain stem injury.
Rhiannon succumbed to her injuries three days after the attack, leaving behind a five-year-old son. Coventry Crown Court sentenced Majek to life imprisonment with a minimum 29-year term, with the presiding judge describing the assault as ‘exceptionally brutal.’
Family’s Outcry
‘This government allowed this to happen,’ Siobhan Whyte stated. ‘There are countless cases being brushed aside while people are raped, attacked, and murdered daily. If this were the Prime Minister’s family, or Sadiq Khan’s family, this wouldn’t occur.’
The bereaved mother continued: ‘We received a life sentence watching Rhiannon die. Where’s the accountability? The Prime Minister has blood on his hands – Rhiannon’s blood, and that of other victims.’
Government Response
When questioned about the case, a spokesperson for the Prime Minister acknowledged: ‘This was clearly an appalling case. While we cannot comment on specifics, our focus remains on strengthening action against illegal migration.’
Forensic analysis presented during the trial at Wolverhampton Crown Court indicated the attacker disappeared from camera view for 90 seconds during the assault. Rhiannon was discovered by railway staff approximately five minutes after the attack in a platform shelter.
