West Midlands Police has requested a review of the licence for The Bulls Head pub in Birchfield Lane, Oldbury, following a double stabbing incident earlier this month. The force cited serious crime and disorder at the venue, prompting Sandwell Council’s licensing committee to consider suspending or revoking the pub’s licence.

Details of the Stabbing Incident

The incident unfolded in the early hours of March 1, 2026, when West Midlands Ambulance Service reported a man stabbed in the chest at the pub. Officers responded and located a second stabbing victim nearby, who had also been at the venue. Both victims, men in their 20s and 30s, received hospital treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police classified the attacks as two counts of wounding with intent under Section 18 of the Offences Against the Person Act 1861.

Arrests Following the Attack

Five individuals faced arrest in connection with the violence. A 22-year-old man was detained on suspicion of violent disorder and possession of Class B drugs. A 38-year-old man was held for violent disorder and possession of Class A drugs. Additionally, police arrested two women, aged 34 and 44, along with a 34-year-old man, all on suspicion of violent disorder.

A senior police officer emphasized that the events involved serious crime and disorder at the pub.
