A shirtless Alex Jones launched into a heated rant after The Onion secured leasing rights for InfoWars, branding the parody outlet’s team as “bodysnatchers.”
Jones’ Explosive Outburst
Appearing topless on video Monday, Jones fumed: “Just because you’re wearing my shirt doesn’t mean you’re me, let’s be 100 percent clear about that.” He accused the group of defamation, stating: “The whole thing’s about defaming me. You can’t take something over and then act like you’re somebody, even if you say it’s a parody. You could do a parody of somebody, but not if you took something from them… So you guys, keep laughing, just like you did a year and a half ago.”
Jones escalated his criticism, declaring: “This is what the left does. They try to silence you, then they misrepresent who you are. They’re bodysnatchers. They’re skin-walkers. They literally take your skin. This is gonna backfire big time folks.”
The Onion’s Satire Relaunch Plan
The Onion announced plans to relaunch InfoWars as a satirical platform focused on internet culture and emerging voices, pending court approval. Its parent company, Global Tetrahedron, obtained a month-to-month lease for $81,000 over six months, with options for renewal.
Onion CEO Ben Collins outlined the vision: “This is about accountability, and what comes next. We’re taking something that caused real harm and turning it into something much funnier, and ideally, more useful.” Comedian Tim Heidecker will portray Jones in the parody format.
Background on InfoWars Auction
InfoWars entered auction in 2024 following Jones’ 2022 bankruptcy declaration. The site faced liquidation after Jones failed to pay approximately $1 billion in damages to Sandy Hook families for spreading misinformation about the tragedy.
Gregory Milligan, the court-appointed manager, requested approval of the licensing deal from Texas District Court Judge Maya Guerra Gamble.
