Jordon Hudson, 25, playfully addressed the public scrutiny surrounding her relationship with Bill Belichick, 74, during their debut at the Kentucky Derby. The cheerleader and University of North Carolina coach appeared affectionate at Churchill Downs, attending both the Kentucky Oaks and the main event.

Hudson posted an Instagram photo on Saturday capturing the couple holding hands while navigating a muddy area near the track. She captioned it, ‘Not the first time we’ve trudged through the mud together,’ referencing the challenges their romance has faced.
Relationship Timeline and Controversy
The couple’s 49-year age difference has drawn significant attention since they began dating in 2024. They first met on a flight from Boston to Florida in February 2021, when Belichick signed one of Hudson’s textbooks.
In an April 2025 interview on CBS Sunday Morning, Hudson reacted angrily when Tony Dokoupil asked about their initial encounter. That same month, Hudson urged the University of North Carolina to moderate social media comments about their relationship.
Public records requests revealed emails highlighting backlash from alumni, donors, and faculty. Critics argued the relationship overshadowed Belichick’s coaching debut and harmed UNC’s image. The Tar Heels finished 4-8 this season, losing to NC State and missing a bowl game for the first time since 2018.
Family Conflicts
Hudson has struggled to gain acceptance from Belichick’s family. Last season, his daughter-in-law Jen Belichick confronted her publicly at a UNC game. Jen, married to Belichick’s son Steve—the team’s defensive coordinator—reportedly called Hudson ‘bats*** crazy’ and accused her of ‘f***ing twisting’ her boyfriend’s brain.
Jen also shouted that Hudson ‘does is control s***’ and criticized her fashion and body, saying, ‘You also need to eat a burger.’ The outburst followed an earlier interaction that left Jen furious. Reports indicate Jen expressed no concern over potential family fallout, even if it led to her disownment or Steve’s dismissal.
Belichick’s friends have voiced worries about Hudson’s influence over the legendary coach.
