Princess Andre and her brother Junior Andre have revealed matching tattoos dedicated to their father, Peter Andre. The siblings, who recently spoke about feeling put in an ‘awkward position’ by their mother Katie Price’s documentary, shared that the ink is a symbol of their family’s love and unity.
Matching Tattoos Symbolize Family Bonds
The word chosen for the tattoos, ‘unconditional’, holds deep significance for the Andre siblings. Junior explained that their father, Peter Andre, wrote a song with this title in honor of their older brother, Harvey. “The word that we got, our dad basically wrote a song with that word,” Junior stated at the ITV2 Reality Showcase. He added that the tattoo is a way to express their ‘love and unity’ as a family, emphasizing the importance of togetherness.
Princess elaborated on the song’s meaning, recalling lyrics that speak to the journey of fatherhood. “It’s something like ‘becoming a father before I became a dad’,” she said. The song, she explained, reflects Peter Andre’s experience becoming a father figure to Harvey, who is Katie Price’s eldest son from a previous relationship with Dwight Yorke. Peter Andre married Katie Price when Harvey was young and became his stepfather.
Navigating Parental Documentaries and Family Dynamics
The revelation of the matching tattoos comes shortly after Princess and Junior discussed the impact of their mother Katie Price’s recent four-part Sky documentary, ‘Katie Price: Nothing To Hide’. The siblings admitted that the show, which delves into their mother’s personal life and challenges, placed them in an uncomfortable situation.
“The new documentary put us in an awkward position,” Princess shared during an episode of ‘The Princess Diaries’, a series featuring her mother. “We love both our parents and want to be there for them.” Junior echoed this sentiment, stating, “Everything feels better and normal since the truce” between their parents, referring to a reconciliation between Katie Price and Peter Andre after a long-standing feud.
Reflections on Childhood and Parental Relationships
In the documentary series, Princess and Junior also reflected on their childhood experiences. They spoke tearfully about times they felt they had to fend for themselves and their younger siblings, Jett and Bunny, during their mother’s public struggles in the late 2010s. These struggles included a period of depression and cocaine addiction following the collapse of her marriage to Kieran Hayler. At the time, Junior was around 13 and Princess was 10.
Despite the complexities of their family life, the siblings expressed a desire to maintain strong relationships with both parents. “It is important for us to have important relationships with both our mum and our dad,” Junior commented. Princess added, “As long as she is happy then I’m happy,” regarding her mother’s personal life.
Future Endeavors and Family Support
Looking ahead, Princess Andre confirmed that her beauty brand is set to launch in September. She also expressed enthusiasm for potential future television appearances, specifically mentioning the possibility of participating in ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ alongside her brother. “We would only do it together,” she stated. “We can be the first. We are the only jungle babies it is calling us.”
The siblings’ candid remarks and matching tattoos highlight their strong familial bonds and their efforts to navigate their parents’ public lives while maintaining their own identities and relationships. The ‘unconditional’ tattoo serves as a permanent reminder of the love and unity they cherish within their family.
