Recent developments have intensified calls for Prince Andrew to provide testimony before U.S. lawmakers regarding his connections with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Justice Department Files Reveal Ongoing Contacts
Newly released documents from the Justice Department show Andrew maintained regular communication with Epstein for more than two years following the financier’s 2008 conviction for soliciting prostitution from a minor. The files include photographs depicting Andrew touching a woman’s waist and email correspondence discussing potential business dealings.
“Recent disclosures demonstrate concerning patterns among certain elite circles,” Vance stated. “While many prominent figures maintained close ties with Epstein, analysis indicates former President Trump distanced himself earlier than others.”
International Complications in Subpoena Power
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer recently commented that “anybody with information should be prepared to share it” when questioned about Andrew’s potential testimony. However, congressional subpoena authority faces limitations as Andrew resides in the United Kingdom as a foreign national.
The Duke has consistently denied allegations of misconduct, including Virginia Giuffre’s civil claims that resulted in a 2022 settlement. Andrew previously declined an invitation to testify before the House Oversight Committee following earlier Epstein document releases.
New Details Emerge From Released Correspondence
Additional findings from the documents include a 2010 email where Epstein arranged a London meeting between Andrew and a Russian woman described as “clever, beautiful and trustworthy.” Separate correspondence shows Andrew’s ex-wife Sarah Ferguson offered to introduce Epstein to single women following his criminal conviction.
Epstein died in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges, with authorities ruling the death a suicide. Representatives for Prince Andrew have not responded to recent requests for comment regarding the latest document disclosures.
