A man in his 60s remains in critical condition after a brutal stabbing near a golf club in Staffordshire. Emergency services, including a police helicopter, responded swiftly to the incident on Thursday evening.
Details of the Attack
Officers arrived at the scene around 7pm on May 14 following reports of violence in the Castlefields area near Newport Road. The victim was walking from Redgrave Drive toward Stafford Castle when a man approached him from behind and attacked with a knife.
A member of the public discovered the injured man on a nearby bench and called for help. West Midlands Ambulance Service sent an air ambulance, which landed in Stafford, while the National Police Air Service helicopter provided aerial support.
Victim’s Condition and Police Response
The victim was transported to hospital by land ambulance. A Staffordshire Police spokesperson stated: “He remains in a critical condition in hospital. There is currently a large police presence at the scene as officers conduct inquiries as part of our investigation.”
Suspect Description
Authorities have issued a description of the suspect: a man in his mid-to-late 20s, of average build, wearing dark clothing. Witnesses are urged to contact police on 101, quoting incident number 641 of May 14.
